Expert HVAC Repair in Campbell, CA: Ranch Home Specialists
Half of Campbell was framed before central air was standard, and the ductwork proves it. We see 1960s ranches pulling 0.9 inches of static through returns sized for a furnace that left decades ago, two doors down from a new townhome with a closet air handler and no room to swing a wrench. Warm summers do not care which era your house came from. We plan for all of it.
Why it takes a specialist
Why Campbell HVAC Takes a Specialist
Campbell is a small city by area but the housing diversity is wide. The Old Campbell historic district has homes from the 1880s and 1890s, some with original infrastructure still in place. The dominant tract housing is 1950s through 1970s ranch and California modern. The Pruneyard and South Campbell areas have 1990s through 2020s condo and townhome construction.
Walking into a Campbell HVAC service call means first identifying which Campbell you are dealing with.
HVAC repair in Campbell punches above its weight relative to the city size. Compact footprint, dense housing, mixed eras from the 1940s downtown core to the modern infill near Pruneyard and Hamilton Avenue. We see more remodel-driven HVAC work per square mile here than in larger neighboring cities because Campbell homeowners tend to remodel rather than relocate. HVAC repair in Campbell means knowing which era of house you are standing in before you touch anything, because a 1940s downtown bungalow and a Pruneyard infill build ask for completely different work.
Three Campbell homes, three playbooks
- Fifties and sixties ranches: original ducts, undersized returns, furnaces on borrowed time; we test static pressure before quoting anything.
- New townhomes: compact closet air handlers and shared walls; we spec slim, quiet equipment that actually fits the space.
- Remodeled ranches: additions that outgrew the original duct design; we run a fresh Manual J and rebalance the whole system.

How it works
What to Expect When You Call
You call, you get John
No call center, no dispatcher reading a script. You talk to the technician who shows up.
A real arrival window
We book a 60-minute arrival window and text you when the truck is rolling. Campbell sits minutes from our San Jose base, so most visits land same day or next day.
A real diagnostic
We measure airflow, total external static pressure, superheat, subcooling and the capacity the system is actually delivering, then compare each one against the manufacturer’s target for that day’s conditions. You get the readings in writing, not a verdict.
Repair or replace, you decide
Options laid out with honest cost, lifespan, and SEER2 math. You make the call.
Clean work, clean exit
Drop cloths down, boots covered, debris hauled out.
We stand behind it
Supplier invoice attached to your job sheet. If something is off, we come back.
Measured, not guessed
What We Measure on a Campbell System
Summer here is a real cooling load, so an airflow or charge fault stops being invisible and starts costing you capacity on exactly the days you need it.
LG, York and Bryant come up most often across the Campbell systems on file with us.
Every Campbell visit runs the same checklist: airflow and static pressure, then charge against the day’s target, then delivered capacity. In writing, and yours to keep.
Two generations, one standard
Campbell HVAC for Every Generation of Home
A city where 1950s ranches share fences with brand new townhomes needs a contractor fluent in both. Here is how we work Campbell.
Ducts older than the owner
A 1960s Campbell ranch is often running its third furnace through its first ductwork. We measure static pressure and duct leakage before recommending equipment, because a 96 percent furnace pushing through leaky sixty-year-old ducts is money thrown into the crawlspace.
The generational handoff
Campbell splits between longtime owners in original ranches and younger families in new townhomes, and they need different answers. We give the repair-or-replace math straight: a $99 diagnostic, real numbers on the table, no pressure in either direction.
Townhome closet installs
New Campbell townhomes hide the air handler in a closet with inches to spare. We measure first, spec slim-cabinet equipment, and verify service clearances so the next tech can actually reach the filter and the coil.
Sized for warm summers
Campbell summers are warm but not desert-hot, and an oversized condenser just short-cycles here. We run a Manual J on the actual house, then pick the SEER2 rating that pays back, not the biggest badge on the spec sheet.

Verified Campbell customers
Please note, I do not write reviews…and I just had to write one for Silicon Valley Comfort. I called SVC on a Saturday night at around 9:15 PM and he was at my door by 10:30 PM. He stayed until 11:50 PM and had me back up and running by the time he left. And no, I did not mistake my AMs and PMs. SVC provides 24/7 service.
I made a last minute call on a Friday to have my AC unit checked out. John was very accommodating despite his busy schedule on a hot day before the weekend. Very friendly service, solved the problem in an hour and I am up and running again. I would call on them again if I ever needed my unit fixed or replaced.
